Yesterday I was riding to work in the city, which is obviously a hairy endeavor and I accept this in riding my bike. However, I had my first really (really, REALLY) close brush with a car yesterday. And it was a Prius. Riding in my lane, the the Prius switched lanes to avoid a truck in part of my lane, then came along side me and decided to come back in. It just started merging right into me, and was slow enough that I could move and just be impressed with the driver's lack of awareness. There was the slightest breath of a nudge at the end, and I'm really glad it wasn't more.
I like being on my bike because I can feel superior in my environmental-consciousness to Prius drivers. Fuck you for not being aware of your environment, and for almost hitting someone whose engine needs NO gasoline at all.
Don't fucking hit bikers.
